Stunning Mk2 to Absolutly Stunning XJ 40

Only six months after finishing my three and a half years of a full nut and bolt restoration of my MK 2 240 I had, for medical reasons, to pass her on to someone else to enjoy.
Our passion is touring in Europe, which I rebuilt the Mk 2 to do, but not being able to safely drive the manual gearbox following surgery, in October 2020 we purchased 'Longun' as our neighbour calls her, a Japanese Import Automatic 3.2 XJ 40 with 13,000 genuine miles on the clock in Pristine Condition and 100% original with no modifications.
Everything on this car that should work does work in the way that you would expect. Oil pressure is 60 plus on start up and she runs at 50 at normal operating temperature. Charging voltage a constant 14.2v and the temperature gauge sits on N within a couple of miles and stays there. The internal trim is herringbone, not leather, which, for the experienced European traveller, is the preferred material avoiding having to sit on burning hot leather when left in strong sunlight.
You will see in the Galleries how good she looks on top and I, and others, can confirm that she is absolutely as good underneath, as if just delivered new from the factory. We can only assume that she has been cossetted in a luxurious Japanese fur lined garage in between the occasional, allowable, usage days out in Japan.
I calculate she averaged 1.23 miles per day over the 29 years in Japan.
Everyone in my Jaguar friendship groups advised me to 'moth ball' her as a good rust free XJ40 is a rare beast and almost non existent in this condition but I am a driver and buy my cars to enjoy them as you will read under the My Ownership tab.
Is she Concours - No, but very very close. When a car is used there will always be a small amount of detailing that can be applied which a function of personal preference / expectation.
I do, of course, hibernate my cars from October to April and 'Longun' has enjoyed that same treatment in my ownership.
This small web site cannot attempt to portray this car in all her glory but hopefully it gives any interested parties much more information than available in normal car sale adverts.
Please read through the Ownership and Why Sell pages, and finally the Gallery tabs to fully appreciate what I am offering and if interested please feel free to contact me at anytime. Viewing will be arranged by contact order and, of course, a dry weather forecast.
Oh, I nearly forgot, the Northern Irish personalised number plate in the photos is not included with the car, I guess it will revert to the J Reg in the picture above, which is the plate allocated to her on return to the UK.
